Annual “Rock’n Wishes” Raises more than $87,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation®
The Bay Area Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter, in partnership with Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, raised more than $87,000 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana Chapter during the recent, sixth annual “Rock’n Wishes” culinary adventure at Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille in Clear Lake, Texas. The sold-out, five-course wine dinner with entertainment and a live auction drew Make-A-Wish supporters from throughout the Bay Area whose generosity is helping dreams come true for Houston-area children coping with life-threatening medical conditions.
Because of the overwhelming generosity of local supporters, the Rock’n Wishes program, which traditionally grants the wishes of four Houston-area children coping with life- threatening medical conditions, will be able to grant wishes for ten additional Houston-area children. This is the third year in a row since the Perry family began the Rock’n Wishes program that participants have been able to more than double the amount of wishes granted.
Of the fourteen total recipients, wishes granted include vacations to Walt Disney World Resort® for Angelina, Julia, Cooper and Nicole. Also honored that evening were parents and grandparents of Abby O., whose wish was granted five years ago through the “Wine & Wishes” event held in 2007.
The event Co-Chairs were Holly Perry and Wendy Shaw. This year’s Magnum Sponsors were Bob and Lena Perry, Captain & Mrs. Tom Phelps with Houston Pilots, Chateau Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, Brown Forman, Chemical Process and Production, Inc., Diageo North America, Edmonds & Nolte, P.C., E&J Gallo Winery, Freedman Meats Inc., Glazer’s Distributors, Gulf Coast Pipeline Services, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Jack’s Carpet, K.J. Wild, Moet Hennessy Distributor’s, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, Republic National Distributing Company, Ronald and Carole Krist, Sysco Food Service of Houston, Inc., TGIC Importers and Pernod Ricard USA, and Visiting Angels, Living Assistance Services.
Underwriters included Marion, Montgomery, Inc., for invitations; Spectrum Music and Southbounders for entertainment; Mark Lovfald for serving as the auctioneer and Phil Pampolina for serving as MC; Trish and Adam Taylor of Imaging Studios for photography; HR Media Works, Jackson Walker L.L.P., and Jim & Tracy Hurd for audio visual services; Lary’s Florist, Inc. for décor and centerpieces; Chris and Holly Perry for table favors; David R.
