Local Houston Food Bank Supporters Have Some Serious Chops

Funds raised by Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille fans during Houston Restaurant Week help supply 213,360 meals to those in need

Taking on Perry’s Famous Pork Chop, or one of three other signature entrees, over 10,000 fans of Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille across the Greater Houston area stood up and dined out to show their support for the Houston Food Bank during Houston Restaurant Weeks this August. Over the monthlong event, their generosity allowed Perry’s to donate $71,120 in support of the Houston Food Bank’s mission, which means that Houston Food Bank will provide 213,360 meals to those in need as a result.

From Aug. 1 through Sept. 2, 2013, Perry’s Steakhouse locations in Champions, Clear Lake, Katy, Memorial City, Sugar Land and The Woodlands offered a special three-course Houston Restaurant Weeks menu to diners, with $7 of each $45 dinner going to charity. Menu options included items never before seen on Perry’s Houston Restaurant Weeks menu, like Grilled Salmon and White Chocolate Cheesecake. Signature favorites like the Wedge Salad, Perry’s Famous Pork Chop, and Dessert Trio were also featured selections.

“After six years of participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks, we are still overwhelmed by the generosity of our patrons,” said Chris Perry, president and owner of Perry’s. “We love that we have the opportunity to introduce new fans to the Perry’s experience, while at the same time doing something meaningful in our community.”
